My story
As a teacher and a mom of two Keller ISD students, I see every day how much our schools matter to our children, our families, and our community.
A product of public school
A great public education changed my life. As the first person in my family to attend college, I had to navigate many challenges on my own. I could not have done it without the teachers, counselors, and school staff who believed in me, encouraged me, and helped me see opportunities I never knew existed. Their impact inspired me to become a teacher so I could help open those same doors for future generations.
Proud Keller ISD Parent
My husband and I chose Keller ISD when we moved to Texas in 2017 because of its strong reputation and commitment to students. Today, we are proud parents of two KISD students in fourth and seventh grade. Like every parent, I want our children to learn in excellent schools, be supported by outstanding teachers, and have every opportunity to succeed.
Student and child advocate and volunteer
Outside the classroom I serve as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for children in foster care and help families navigate special education services. I also work with the Tourette Association of America–Texas Chapter to support families and educate school staff about Tourette Syndrome and other student needs. These experiences have strengthened my belief that every child deserves the opportunity, support, and encouragement to reach their full potential.
My experience
My commitment to Keller ISD extends beyond my own family to the community we call home. I have served on a Campus Education Improvement Committee, the district Budget Committee, and a middle school band booster board. These experiences have given me valuable insight into both the strengths of our district and the challenges we need to work together to address.
Over the course of my career I have taught students of all backgrounds and abilities in elementary, middle, intermediate, and high schools in three school districts. I spent 12 years as a classroom teacher honing my skills and understanding of the unique challenges and triumphs of fostering student growth, adapting to diverse learning needs, and cultivating a supportive classroom environment. In Keller ISD, I brought those skills to my position as an English as a Second Language (ESL) Specialist and Reading/Math Interventionist across four campuses. I was privileged to work with students and staff at Eagle Ridge Elementary, Park Glen Elementary, Indian Springs Middle School, and Florence Elementary School. Working alongside KISD students, families, educators, and staff has been one of my greatest privileges.
My commitment
I am running for Keller ISD Board of Trustees because I believe our district needs leaders who understand the day-to-day realities of our classrooms and are fully committed to putting students, teachers, and staff first. Keller ISD needs decision makers who listen to parents, communicate openly, and keep students at the center of every decision. Families deserve transparency, meaningful input, and a school board that earns and maintains the community's trust.
Building on my experience as a teacher, parent, advocate, and Budget Committee member, I am ready to serve our community as a Trustee with integrity, common sense, and a focus on what matters most: students, teachers, staff, and classrooms.
I am committed to responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, strong academic opportunities, and preserving the excellence that makes Keller ISD a district families are proud to call home.
Keller ISD has become the community where our family has built friendships, found opportunities, and put down roots. I am proud to call this district home, and I would be honored to serve the Keller ISD community as Trustee for Place 4, working every day to ensure our schools remain a source of pride for generations of families to come.
